A young man has tragically drowned in a swimming pool in Spain's Fuengirola.

The 21-year-old lost his life late last night within an urbanisation on Avenida Pacosol.

According to the 112 emergency service, frantic calls about a man being pulled from the water were received around 10:50 PM on Saturday.

Witnesses attempted CPR while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

Despite the best efforts of the medical teams, they were unable to revive the man.

No additional details have been released about the tragic incident.

The victim's nationality remains unknown at this time.
