Zelensky Reveals Russian Forces Used Over 800 Glide Bombs in a Week

Russian forces have deployed over 800 glide bombs in the past week to target Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced last night. The wartime leader shared images of the devastation caused by Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities including Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Odesa, Sumy, Kherson, Donetsk, and Kharkiv.

“This week alone, Russia has used more than 800 guided aerial bombs against Ukraine. Against our cities and communities, against our people, against everything that makes life normal,” Zelensky posted on X (formerly Twitter).

The statement followed attacks on Ukraine’s two largest cities, with missile fragments hitting a suburban Kyiv apartment building and a guided bomb killing one person in Kharkiv. An eight-month-old infant was injured in the Kharkiv bombing, officials reported.

Zelensky renewed his call for more long-range weapons after seven people were killed in a Russian strike the previous day. Western allies have already supplied Ukraine with long-range weapons, including Scalp missiles from France, Storm Shadow from the UK, and ATACMS from the US, along with US-made Patriot air defense systems.

The continued use of guided aerial bombs by Russian forces highlights the ongoing intensity and escalation of the conflict, underscoring the urgent need for additional support and advanced weaponry for Ukraine.
