Tragic Incident: Child Dies After Being Pulled from Wolverhampton Canal

A child has tragically died after being pulled from a canal in Wolverhampton on Sunday evening.
Emergency services were called to a waterway off Hendon Avenue in Ettingshall just after 6 p.m. Paramedics arrived swiftly, but despite their best efforts, the young boy could not be saved.
West Midlands Police officers were the first to reach the scene and managed to pull the boy from the canal. He was found in a critical condition, and officers immediately began administering basic life support.
West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed that several crews were dispatched, with the first ambulance arriving within three minutes of the call. A spokesperson for WMAS said, "On arrival, crews found a boy who had been pulled from the water by police colleagues in a critical condition. He was receiving basic life support, and ambulance staff immediately took over to administer advanced life support."
Despite the combined efforts of the police and paramedics, the child was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The community in Ettingshall has been left in shock and mourning as the tragic news spread. Authorities have not yet released further details, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is expected to follow.
