Tragic Accident in Estepona: Man Killed by Falling Concrete Column

Estepona, Costa del Sol – A 66-year-old man tragically lost his life on Monday afternoon, August 12, after a concrete column fell on him while he was sitting at a country house in Estepona. The incident occurred at a property located on Camino del Colibrí, according to the 112 Andalucía emergency service coordination centre.

The emergency services received a distress call shortly after 5 p.m. reporting that a man had been struck by a falling concrete column while he was seated on a sun lounger. The impact of the column caused fatal injuries.

The 112 Andalucía call centre immediately alerted the Malaga CPB provincial fire brigade, the 061 health emergency ambulance service, and both the Local and National Police forces. However, the fire brigade did not need to intervene in the incident.

Despite the prompt response, medical personnel on the scene were unable to save the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading to the accident.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many expressing their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. Investigations by local authorities are likely to continue as they seek to understand how such a tragic event could have occurred.
