GREEN PARTY SERENA WOOTON : DISABLED KIDS ARE A BURDEN

Green Party Candidate Serena Wooton Faces Backlash for Calling Disabled Children a Burden

Yeovil, UK — Green Party campaigner Serena Wooton, standing for election in Yeovil, has ignited a firestorm of controversy after stating that disabled children are a "burden on the system." This shocking remark, reported by Yeovil Real News and disseminated in leaflets across the Somerset region, has provoked widespread outrage.

Local residents and advocacy groups have condemned Wooton's statements as deeply hurtful and discriminatory. Her pre-election right-hand man, Tim Eggins, attempted to defend her but only fanned the flames further. Eggins, notorious for his aggressive tactics, previously attacked local podcaster Stephen Callis for interviewing election favorite Adam Dance of the Liberal Democrats. Eggins sent a series of hostile messages to Callis before blocking him on social media, though Wooton eventually intervened to secure her own interview.

Despite the mounting criticism, Wooton has yet to retract her inflammatory comments about disabled children in her constituency. With the election approaching, her remarks have become a focal point of local political debate, jeopardizing her chances at the polls. Many Somerset residents are calling for her resignation, arguing that her views are incompatible with public service.

Social media reactions reveal widespread discontent with Wooton's views on disabled children, as expressed in her campaign leaflets. These leaflets suggest that children with disabilities should be integrated into regular schools to reduce their perceived burden on the system.

' I WILL KNOCK HER OUT'

Mary Parkins, a Yeovil resident with a disabled grandson attending Fairmead School, expressed her outrage to Global247news: "Her thoughts on her leaflet are outrageous about disabled children, let alone her comments about them being a burden. If she comes knocking on my doorstep, I will knock her out. My friends in similar situations feel the same too. With her views now exposed, she should resign immediately."

The controversy surrounding Wooton has intensified with allegations that she plans to shut down the region's largest employer due to environmental concerns. While she has denied these claims, she has refused to identify the sources of these rumors.

Yeovil, home to a significant population of disabled children supported by specialized care homes and schools, has reacted strongly to Wooton's comments. The call for her resignation grows louder as parents and community members rally against her discriminatory stance.

As the election campaign continues, Wooton's divisive views have cast a shadow over her candidacy, leaving many to question whether she truly represents the values of the Green Party and the community she seeks to serve.
