Russia Launches Air Attack on Kyiv, Ukraine's Capital, Global247news Reporters Confirm

Global247news reporters have confirmed that Russia has launched an air attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and its surrounding region, prompting the activation of air defence systems to counter the strikes.

They reported hearing several blasts in and around Kyiv, believed to be air defence systems intercepting airborne threats. Thus far, there have been no reports of casualties.

This latest attack on Kyiv comes just hours after a deadly assault on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city. At least three people were killed and 19 others injured when Russia fired multiple glide bombs into civilian-populated areas. Local officials reported that a residential building was hit four times around 3:15 PM local time.

Kharkiv, a city with a population of approximately 1.3 million, has been relentlessly targeted by Russian aerial strikes due to its proximity to the border, which is only 20 miles away.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urgently called on Kyiv’s Western allies to assist in halting these attacks. “This Russian terror with guided aerial bombs must and can be stopped,” he wrote on Telegram. “Bold decisions from our partners are needed so that we can destroy Russian terrorists and Russian combat aircraft where they are.”

As the conflict intensifies, the need for international support becomes ever more critical for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
