Mother and Aunt of Cody Fisher's Killer Charged with Assisting an Offender
The mother and aunt of one of the men convicted in the murder of Cody Fisher have been charged with assisting an offender, West Midlands Police confirmed.
Jahzeen Carpenter, 39, and Nadine Taylor, 44, are accused of helping Kami Carpenter evade arrest in the days following Cody Fisher's fatal stabbing on Boxing Day 2022. Fisher was pronounced dead at the Crane nightclub in Digbeth, Birmingham, after suffering fatal stab wounds to his chest and leg.
Both Jahzeen Carpenter and her sister Nadine Taylor, from Dudley, appeared before magistrates on Tuesday, facing charges of assisting an offender. The pair have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on October 8.
Kami Carpenter, 22, was sentenced to life in prison in April after being convicted of Fisher's murder, alongside co-defendant Remy Gordon, 23. Both men attempted to shift the blame for the stabbing onto each other during the trial.
A third individual involved in the incident was convicted of affray but acquitted of murder.
