Heavy Losses for Russian Forces on Ukrainian Frontline: Over 1,000 Soldiers Killed and Wounded
Kyiv, Ukraine – In the past 24 hours, Russian forces have suffered significant losses on the frontline in Ukraine, with 1,030 soldiers reported killed and wounded, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The casualties for Vladimir Putin's troops also include 48 artillery systems and 23 armored combat vehicles.
Since the onset of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Ukraine estimates that Russia has incurred at least 556,650 casualties, including both fatalities and injuries.
As the conflict continues, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on NATO allies in Washington to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons against targets in Russia. Zelensky emphasized that such a move could be a "game-changer" in Ukraine's efforts against Moscow. Andriy Yermak, Zelensky's chief of staff, echoed this sentiment at a public forum, arguing that while Russia has no restrictions on its use of weapons, lifting all limits on the weapons supplied to Ukraine would significantly alter the dynamics of the conflict.
In a related development, the United Kingdom has reportedly informed President Zelensky that British-supplied missiles can be used by Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia. This shift in policy underscores the growing support among Ukraine's allies to provide more flexible and potent military aid to counter Russian advances.
The situation on the ground remains fluid, with Ukrainian forces continuing to resist and counter Russian aggression. As the international community watches closely, the call for increased military support and the potential for expanded use of long-range weaponry highlight the high stakes and evolving strategies in this ongoing conflict.
