Taxi Driver Stabbed For His Mobile Phone In Spain's Marbella

Two Men Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Taxi Driver and Stealing Phone in Marbella

Marbella, June 24, 2024 — Police have arrested two men accused of stabbing a taxi driver and fleeing with his mobile phone in Marbella early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 4:40 am on June 23, when the two men entered the taxi, with one seated in the front passenger seat and the other in the back. Upon reaching their destination, the man in the front seat allegedly attempted to snatch the driver's mobile phone. The 43-year-old driver responded by grabbing the suspect's hand.

At this point, the suspect reportedly drew a knife with his other hand and attempted to stab the driver in the chest. The driver managed to block the attack but sustained a stab wound to his hand in the process. The assailants then fled the scene with the driver’s phone.

The victim required surgery due to several severed ligaments caused by the stabbing.

Authorities swiftly apprehended the two suspects, who are now facing charges related to the violent attack and robbery.
