Tributes Paid To Man Killed In Swansea As Somerset Men Charged With Murder

Tributes Paid to Falkirk Man Who Died After Swansea Assault

Tributes have been paid to Andrew Main, a 33-year-old man from Falkirk, Scotland, who tragically died almost a month after being assaulted in Swansea. Mr. Main passed away in hospital on August 14, following injuries sustained near the entrance of the Travelodge hotel on Princess Way on July 17.

Two men, Joseph Dix, 26, from Frome, and Macauley Ruddock, 27, from Bath, Somerset, have been charged with Mr. Main's murder. Both appeared at Swansea Crown Court, where they entered not guilty pleas. Their trial is scheduled for January next year.

Mr. Main's family is devastated by the loss, describing him as a "witty man with a huge heart" who was "loyal to the core." In a heartfelt tribute, his sister Nikki said, “Andrew – my baby brother – was sadly taken from us far too soon. He was adored by family and friends and beloved by more.”

In a statement released through South Wales Police, his family expressed their grief: “We are absolutely devastated by his sudden passing and ask anyone with information to please come forward. He will forever live in our hearts and memories. He was a fabulous brother, fun uncle, and supportive daddy to his two children. There will never be anyone like Andrew. The hole that has been left in our hearts will never be filled.”

The community has also rallied around the family, offering love and support in their time of need. "Everyone in our community has been grief-stricken, but we have rallied together as one at this sad time," the family added. "We can’t thank everyone enough for the love and support they have shown."

As the family mourns their loss, they continue to appeal for anyone with information about the incident to come forward, hoping for justice as the case progresses to trial.
