Tropical Storm Debby Washes $1 Million Worth of Cocaine onto Florida Keys Coast
Tropical Storm Debby has brought an unexpected cargo to the Florida Keys, as $1 million (£784,000) worth of cocaine washed ashore, according to US Border Patrol.
Twenty-five packages were discovered on a beach and reported to authorities by a “good Samaritan,” stated Samuel Briggs, the acting chief patrol agent. Although the exact location of the discovery was not disclosed, Briggs shared an image on social media platform X, showing 25 bricks covered in a black rectangular sticker with a red triangular symbol.
The storm, which drenched Florida on Monday, has resulted in at least four fatalities and poses a continued threat to southeastern US states with heavy rainfall and catastrophic flooding.
