Two UK Teenagers Fighting For Life After Being Struck By Out Of Control Car

Two teenagers are fighting for their lives after being struck by an out-of-control car that mounted the pavement in Manchester. The incident occurred near Deansgate Locks on Whitworth Street West around 10:30 pm on Saturday.

According to initial reports, a Toyota Yaris collided with a Vauxhall Corsa before veering onto the kerb, where it crashed into a Kia Sportage and other street objects. A man and woman, both 18 years old, were hit by the vehicle and were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.

Detective Constable Simon Venguedasalon stated: “We’ve been conducting inquiries overnight and are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time for eyewitness accounts or footage. There were many people around, given the location, and we urge anyone who hasn’t spoken to us yet to come forward.”

He added, “We are working to understand fully what led to this serious collision and to provide answers for the victims’ loved ones who are anxiously waiting as they continue to receive treatment.”
