Ukraine's Spy Chief Predicts End of Russian Offensive by October

Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), has projected that Russia's ongoing offensive on 11 fronts will conclude within the next two months. Budanov shared his insights to Global247news currently in Ukraine, suggesting that the Russian offensive, which he described as "dragged on," will be "over in a month and a half to two months."

Drawing on his experience with Russian-backed forces, Budanov explained that "any side does not last more than two months" in sustained offensive operations. However, he cautioned that following a period of decline and a brief lull, Ukraine will likely face "new attempts by the enemy to attack."

"We are preparing for this," Budanov emphasized, highlighting the need for vigilance and readiness for future threats.

The outcome of this situation, according to Budanov, will also hinge on Ukraine's strategic response. "We can wait and see; four or five months will pass and everything will repeat itself again. Or we can act proactively," he stated, underscoring the importance of taking initiative to prevent a recurrence of conflict.

As Ukraine braces for potential future offensives, the international community remains watchful of the evolving dynamics on the front lines.
